Document Sets

Document Set is a sets of documents that are grouped together for a specific purpose. It’s implemented as a site collection feature.

Document sets are implemented as a content type, so they have features such as versioning, workflow, policies etc.

Activate the Document Sets in Site Collection Features

To use the document set feature in a document library, first create a test document library, say “State Fair Docs”. By default, a document library does not allow management of content type, so we need to allow it. Go to the document library à Library tab à Library settings à Advanced Settings, then select “Yes” in the Content Type row.

Now return to the document library settings page, you will see the Content Type section:
