Managing Solution in VS 2010 – basics

When you create a Sharepoint project in VS 2010, a Features and Package folder is created in the solution. There can be 0 to N features in a Sharepoint project but always only one package.

When you add a new item to your project, such as Visual Web Part, this Visual Web Part is automatically added to the new Feature 1, and Feature 1 is automatically added to the Package.

Only Sharepoint items that have the same feature scope can be contained in the same feature.

The package is packaged into a WSP file and deployed.
