http://dotnetfinder.wordpress.com/2010/07/24/creatingcustomsharepointtimerjob2010/

Create a Sharepoint project, with an Empty Sharepoint Project template, name it CustomTimerJob, Farm Solution.

Create a class that inherits from Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPJobDefinition

Put you timer job code in the Execute Section.

Then add a Feature – so we can add an Event Receiver to the feature. In the event we will schedul the job.

In the Feature activated event:

First search the job; if exists, deleted it. The add this new job.

Deactivating: – delete the job

Before deployment, select the right scope in the Feature Designer.
