Use Sharepoint Designer to create a list instance (2)

Click Add to add a new content type to the list AWLinks. You would see a Content Type Picker. Search and select one. (select Task)

The Task content type is added.

The Views of a list is displayed in a web part call XsltListViewWebPart. Default view is AllItem.aspx.

To create a new view, click New button.

To edit a new in SP Designer, right click the view, and:

To show or hide a column:

To allow your list instance to be used in other Sharepoint sites, you can save it as a list template. From List Settings page, click:

Give a template file name and a display title.

You can access the nw liste tempate here:

So if you want to create a new list based on this new list template:

Site Actions à View All Site Content à Create.

An you can’t create a list instance from it from SP Designer? Because I don’t see it there….
